Lake Issyk-Kul

Lake Issyk-Kul is situated in central Asia and is known as the Pearl of Central Asia. It is located in the Issyk-Kul Basin, at the northern foot of the Tian Shan Mountains in northeastern Kyrgyzstan. It is an inland saline lake. In ancient China, it was referred to as Tuschi, Rehai, and Qingchi. It was passed by the Buddhist monk Xuanzang during his journey to the Western Regions. Among the high mountain lakes in the world, Lake Issyk-Kul is second in size only to Lake Titicaca in South America, but it has the greatest depth. The lake's water has a transparency of over 12 meters and a high salt content, earning it the name "Salt Lake." The Issyk-Kul region has a dry climate, crystal-clear lake waters, fresh air, and abundant mineral springs, making it a famous tourist destination and health resort in Kyrgyzstan.
